If the reader is lighting up and continuity has been established, but nothing is being seen on the panel, it is time for a Wiegand Test.
Step 1. Create a short jumper wire of 2-3 inches.
Step 2. Turn dipswitch 3 “OFF” on SW-3 (image 1). This will put the reader into test mode and the LEDs on the UHF Processor (silver processor directly under the green LED smiley face) will gently scroll across to indicate the reader is in test mode.
Step 3. Land one end of the jumper in the “IN-1” Port. (image 2.)
Step 4. Land the other end in the OUT-1 termination point. When connected IN-1 to OUT-1, the 5th LED Light should blink steadily (image 3).
Step 5. Move the OUT-1 side of the Jumper wire to the OUT-2 termination point. When connected IN-1 to OUT2, the 5th LED Light should blink 2x and then pause and repeat until disconnected.
Step 6. Move the OUT-2 side of the Jumper to the OUT-3 termination point. When connected IN-1 to OUT-3, the 5th LED Light should blink 3x and then pause and repeat until disconnected.
Step 7. Disconnect the jumper and return the wiring to its original position.
Step 8. Turn Dipswitch 3 back “ON” to disable test mode and continue read mode.
